Soft yet impactful are words only beginning to describe Lucy McWilliams’ musical attributes. Calming guitar foundations structure her newest release from the root to its ending, showcasing where the idea took its first steps into becoming a permanent space in Lucy’s ever growing discography.
‘The Greatest Man’ is a song that takes us on a journey, steady and perfect for immersing yourself in the world around you. Its rhythm releases a pacifying trance upon its listeners as it rings out. McWilliams’ vocals complement the graceful melody surrounding her lyricism, a recurring depiction within her discography.
The lyrics spoken throughout the song are uttered in an honest nature, a conveyance of Lucy’s talent for songwriting without complication. Working in Collaboration with Rich Turvey and Will Reeves, the track follows a similar note to McWilliams’ other pieces of work like her EP; ‘Third Second Chance’, and yet also has a distinct independence that forms an introduction to her in-the-work tracks, which are yet to be released.
Teasing the likelihood of a Dublin show this upcoming month, Lucy is set to play a collection of songs, new and old. We hope to make it to the show once the date is announced, and we think you should too!
